Pledger Cabin

PROJECT LOCATION: Westlake Hills, Texas
CLIENT: Jim and Coralie Pledger
DOC: 1999

Description:
Having commissioned the renovation of their residence, the clients then hired BarbeePratte Associates to design a guest cabin for this four acre site in Westlake HIlls. The adjacent undeveloped site offered a unique opportunity to create a separate guest house/ garden structure that would be casual and inviting. The program called for two guest bedrooms, a galley kitchen, and a screened open-air living/ dining space.

It is situated adjacent to a garden with a water collection cistern and is made of sustainable material.

The palette of materials includes corrugated metal siding, galvalume standing seam roof, concrete piers, wolmanized lumber, and Trex decking- a recycled product.
